Hacienda Nosara sits in Playa Pelada, the quieter cove just north of the more well-known Playa Guiones. It's a short walk to the beach, minutes by golf cart to Guiones' surf, restaurants, and yoga studios, and a straightforward drive from Liberia (LIR).

The area is known for its blue-zone longevity culture, wildlife corridor, and rhythm of morning surf, afternoon shade, and technicolor sunsets.

The walk to the beach

North Playa Pelada is a 9-minute walk from the Hacienda.

From the gate

  1. 1. Go left out of the property.
  2. 2. Take your first right.
  3. 3. Take the next left and follow it to the shaded parking lot and sand path that opens onto Playa Pelada.

This is beautiful and uncrowded North Playa Pelada. Enjoy the rose-colored sand, tide pools, and vortex energy. Very safe to swim at low tide — we recommend staying about 50 feet south of the beach entrance where there is a sandy bottom and significantly fewer rocks.

Just an 8 mins drive to Guiones beach for surfers at all levels. There are several world-class breaks a short drive away.

Important note

When following GPS, do not take the last right towards Villa Mango. Stay straight and we are the next right. Look for the wooden Hacienda Nosara and the A73 lot number signs.

Written directions

Once in Nosara:

  1. 1. Take 160 until you reach the Pelada upper road (to La Garta Lodge).
  2. 2. Follow that road 1.5 km.
  3. 3. Do not turn right at the Villa Mango sign. Go 30 more meters (90 feet). Hacienda Nosara is the very next driveway on the right.
  4. 4. We are approximately 200 meters before La Garta Lodge.
